The Wonders of the Electron Microscope

Retired scientific photographer Steve Gschmeissner, 61, took these photos using a scanning electron microscope. This microscope is able to magnify insects by up to a million times. The results show amazing images of the insect in 3D.

Strange Rapier in the mid of 19th Century

It is impossible to believe, but this is a rapier.
It was manufactured in the mid-19th century by the technology of the old masters as a gift to one high-ranking person.
Such exceptionally flexible rapiers were made in Toledo in the 16th beginning of 17th century.
In the gun shops, they were sold necessarily coiled in a circle to show its flexible properties.
